This drama was SO CUTE.
Korean BL dramas just keep getting better and better...
This is an enemies-to-lovers drama, with a very cute cast with awesome chemistry.
I will just say, after watching this series, I am currently waiting on the next installment of the translated novel while also reading through the webtoon. It's that good (at least imo).
I am not generally a fan of the enemies-to-lovers trope, depending on how terrible they are to each other in the beginning. In this series computer science major Chu Sang-Woo (Jae-Chan) and design major Jang Jae-Young (Park Seo-Ham) REALLY dislike each other. Like, a lot.
It all starts when they were assigned to a group project together, and Jae-young, a senior with other things to do, flaked completely along with the other team members. This left all the work to Sang-Woo, and he rightfully claimed all the credit. Because of this, Jae-Young can no longer graduate. Needless to say, he is PISSED. He cools off, realizing that he is really at fault, only for his rage to be reignited with a chance meeting set up between him and Sang-Woo. Sang-Woo is developing a mobile game and another designer has to bow out, but before she does she recommends Jae-Young, whose art style Sang-Woo is definitely a fan of. When they realize who their perspective colleagues are, they lose their shit. Jae-Young vows to haunt Sang-Woo, stealing his coveted seat in classes, buying up all of his favorite coffees, and wearing all red to irritate him. I can't remember if this was directly mentioned in the drama series, but in the novel it is explained that Sang-Woo has OCD, so this REALLY bothers him. Sang-Woo also suffers from prosopagnosia, which means he can't really recognize faces. This plays into the story because Sang-Woo is definitely a loner and frequently forgets people's names, which pisses Jae-Young off even more. After some time, Sang-Woo can quickly spot Jae-Young in a crowd and the two start to become drawn to each other. Before they know it, they become friends, spending the majority of their time together. Sang-Woo resists his friendship at first, but love starts to bloom in his cold little heart and he can't help himself.
The story plays out in a super cute way and the two leads did a fantastic job. I really look forward to more work from them in the future (when Seo-Ham returns from military service).
Another thing I enjoyed on the side was the friendship and bond the two actors developed in real life, which translates very well on the screen through the romantic development in the series.
Very enjoyable!
(Just FYI, if you plan to read the novel, it is WAY more spicy than the show.)
