Spotlight: Park Seo-Joon

Park Seo-Joon (12/16/1998) This man is not a national treasure. He is a global - dare I say universal - treasure.  His acting range is phenomenal, and I feel confident saying that after only seeing a handful of his dramas. He can carry a comedy extremely well, and can absolutely break your heart the next moment.  There's a scene in Fight My Way where he is trying to laugh something off while holding back tears and he plays it so naturally. He is just so utterly charming it's unbelievable.  On top of this massive acting talent is his singing! His voice is soothing like a nice warm hug and it's always a treat to hear him on an OST. Be warned though, you will probably cry.  AND he's handsome. So handsome. Can't forget about that (how could you?). He is definitely someone I will hold dear to me for quite some time and I sincerely look forward to catching up on his past works and well as waiting for the future ones.  (It's also heartwarming t...

Meow: The Secret Boy; Welcome - ★

MEOW... THE SECRET BOY..... OMG This drama is super super cute and a nice and lightly refreshing way to cope with 2020. First things first, we need to talk about the elephant in the room. Or the cat in the room, whichever you prefer. Yes, this is a story about a girl who falls in love with her cat. Deal with it. Don't make it weird. ****** Spoilers******* This is the story of graphic designer Kim Sol-A (played by the adorable Shin Ye-Eun ). She's not a cat person. Not in the least. Despite this, she always seems to find herself surrounded by "cats", including the boy she's been crushing on for a decade. Lee Jae-Sun (played by the sweet and shy-seeming Seo Ji-Hoon ) holds all his cards close to his chest (and he also just happens to be allergic to cats). He seems to reciprocate the feelings that the innocently sincere Sol-A has for him, but you can tell he has a hard time expressing himself. One day they plan to meet and it seems like they maybe will progr...

Bride of the Water God (Bride of Ha Baek 2017)

Bride of the Water God (2017); a.k.a. Bride of Ha Baek (Spoilers below) This drama was one that I liked more the first time that I saw it. The second time, I just tended to notice more areas that it was lacking. I have read the Manhwa Bride of the Water God, and although the illustrations sere lovely, the story was not that compelling. This drama uses that story as a sort of back drop to this modern setting. Quick rundown of impressions: How much crying? Not too much really. How funny? The humor stands out weirdly, but there are some random moments that really just cracked me up. How ridiculous? Very. Very ridiculous. The ending seems very overblown. How cute? It has its moments. Mainly a few characters are adorable. How steamy? Although it's not overflowing, there are definitely some pretty steamy moments. It's probably the saving grace. Chemistry? The leads have a very awkward and mostly lacking chemistry, but I think that is more due to the writing and the natur...
